Working Towards the Future
2018 Stars Graduate, Victoria Blundell, has been working full time since Year 12, intent on saving money for University.
“I was doing okay in High School when I joined Stars, but my Mentors not only ensured I came to school and had food in my belly – they pushed me to strive for greatness!” Victoria says.
“After graduating, I knew I wanted to have a year to earn money, I just didn’t know where to begin.”
“Stars helped me find a role I was interested in and, even better, helped me explore opportunities for apprenticeships and traineeships.”
“With the help of my Mentors, I was able to apply online and ended up being hired as an Administration Officer Trainee doing a Certificate III in Business Administration at Townsville Hospital!”
Victoria says she is enjoying working full-time in a clinical area and is grateful to Stars for helping her explore so many opportunities.
“Without Stars, I may only have been able to get a part-time job, which wouldn’t have allowed me to earn enough to move out of home,” she says.
“I also wouldn’t have been able to work towards gaining a Certificate, and I’m so glad I did because it will enhance my Resume and contribute to my future.”
