As part of our focus on post-school pathways, VCAL Stars from Haileybury Rendall School were taken on a workplace visit to Bunnings Palmerston recently.
They were taken on a personalised tour of the store and given some information about a paid work experience opportunity that Bunnings will be offering to some of our young women.
To participate they will need to go through a formal selection process, which will give them valuable experience in applying for work and performing well in an interview setting.
The work experience will be done over 10 weeks and will be able to be included on their Resumes for future job applications.
Our Stars were super enthusiastic about the opportunity and felt very welcomed and encouraged by the store staff.
They even got a chance to check out the staff room and have a play with the props in the ‘photo booth corner’, which is part of Bunnings’ strategy to keep staff happy and engaged at work.
