RAAF Visit

Year 9 and 10 Townsville Stars spent a day on the RAAF base, where they learnt about all the great career opportunities available in Defence, including personal trainer, Indigenous liaison officer, aircraft mechanic, pilot, and administration, just to name a few!

They also got some hands-on experience, including trying on some combat gear, climbing through helicopters, and even completing part of the fitness test that is required to join the RAAF.

One of the highlights was visiting the base guard dogs and getting to meet some of them – from a distance, of course!

At the end of the day, there was a lot of enthusiasm about joining the RAAF and a discussion about which of the fantastic career options they’d like to pursue.

A huge thank you to 383 Squadron and 5AV for hosting our young women and always making them feel so welcome.
