Stars Making History
Casuarina Senior School Stars were thrilled to play off in one of the curtain-raiser games before the NRL Parramatta Eels vs Cowboys game in Darwin over the weekend.
The girls made history by playing in the very first Under 16s girls Rugby League Eels Cup, winning 52 to 4 against MacKillop.
So proud of the excellent sportsmanship shown by the girls, who represented Stars Foundation and their school with enthusiasm and determination.
Stars student, Ashanti Bush (pictured above with Parramatta Eels player, Will Smith), played a brilliant game and was named ‘Most Valuable Player’. Team Captain, Talia Corrie, received the Cup on behalf of all the girls and another Stars student, Aaliyah Kopp, was interviewed by Channel 9 news.
A big thank you to Stars Mentor and super sportswoman, Jordan Ahsam, for contributing her awesome rugby knowledge on the day, and to Year 12 Stars student, Shameka Petterson, for her assistance off the field in helping everything run smoothly.
