No Woman Left Behind
Stars from the Northern Territory took part in the ‘No Woman Left Behind’ conference in Darwin recently, where they were inspired by some amazing speakers, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner June Oscar AO.
They also had the opportunity to participate in a Self-Determination and Empowerment workshop with Tanyah Nasair, a proud Aboriginal woman from Darwin who has links to the Tiwi Islands.
Our senior Stars were able to interact with young women from schools around the NT, talking about the challenges they face at school, at work and even in their peer groups.
They felt so empowered and inspired that they decided they would like to address the conference as a group, sharing what some of the important things they have learned from their Stars Mentors and the speakers at the conference.
The whole experience reminded our young women that if they continue to work hard and believe in themselves, they can do anything!
