Our Haileybury Rendall Stars were lucky enough to meet some stars of a different kind at a private ‘soundcheck’ at Darwin Festival Theatre last week.
Our young women were given a tour of the facilities and the theatre stage itself, where they attended a soundcheck session with two Aboriginal artists: Electric Fields and J-Milla, who were performing that evening.
The girls were excited to be able to spend some time yarning with J-Milla (Jacob Nichaloff), who shared some of his experiences of living in a boarding house and attending school in Adelaide. He also told them how important it is to pursue your dreams and always keep a positive attitude.
Then our Stars were able to watch the artists and dancers getting ready for their show, which was a real thrill for them all!
