Year 10 Heatley Stars recently had a sleepover focusing on leadership and team building.
First, they took part in a beach clean-up and cataloguing of litter, including a discussion on the role of marine debris in undermining the health of the reef with Reef Ecologic.
They also visited the local TAFE, where they had a tour of the facilities and heard about a range of training and study opportunities.
A trip to the Escape Academy saw the girls divided into groups and placed into secure rooms, where they had to use their problem-solving and team-work skills to ‘escape’.
And just for fun, they finished up with a trip to the skating rink, where many of our Stars took to the rink for the very first time!
