Stars Ahoy!

Some Year 11 Stars from our Kalgoorlie program recently had the experience of a lifetime working on Australia’s largest sail-training tall ship, the STS Leeuwin II.

The young women set sail on a week-long ocean voyage from Albany to Fremantle, learning how to run a working ship, developing core skills and building resilience.

During the voyage, they took part in many group activities, including setting and furling the sails, climbing the masts and working aloft, and standing watch during night sailing.

For these young women, who come from the red-dirt country, this experience out on the ocean will be one they will remember for the rest of their lives!
