Last semester, some of our Stars from Cecil Andrew’s College took part in the Artist in Residence program in conjunction with the Royal Automobile Club WA, led by Yamatji artist, Rhys Paddick.
Each Friday during the semester, the students worked on their pieces for a chance to be selected to show them at the RAC WA’s Indigenous Acquisition Prize and Visual Art Exhibition.
The winning students were two of our Year 11 Stars, Teija Morrison and Tiffany Buckley, who received a cash prize and will have their work featured in the RAC’s collection.
Due to the high quality of all the students’ artwork, a few were selected by the school to create plaques for each learning area, which are being renamed in Noongar Language.
Congratulations to Teija, Sianna, Paris and Tayahni for having their work chosen as part of this important initiative by the college.
