End of Year 12 Experiences

Completing Year 12 is a major milestone in the lives of our Stars, so at the end of each year we like to offer them some memorable experiences to help them celebrate and reflect on their many amazing achievements.

This year, some of our camps had to be cancelled or transformed into day excursions because of lockdowns, but we still had some truly special Stars experiences!

Up in Arnhem Land, our Yirrkala and Nhulunbuy Stars had their trip to Darwin cancelled due to lockdown in the NT, so our awesome Mentors took them to a hair and beauty salon in Nhulunbuy where they were treated to a day of makeovers and pampering.

Across in Katherine, our Stars travelled to Darwin on the Monday morning for a week-long camp, only to be told that Katherine was going into lockdown at 6pm! So, the trip was cut short, and the girls had to head back home the next morning.

After having to cancel the first day of their trip away because of the NT lockdown, our Year 12 Taminmin College Stars enjoyed some fun activities such as Go Karts, an Airboat Tour, relaxing by the pool, and a beautiful sunset cruise on Darwin Harbour.

Our Haileybury Rendell School Stars spent a couple of days adventuring and relaxing on the Darwin Waterfront, then headed out to Crab Claw Resort where they slept in cabins with the ocean lapping at their door and spent a few days fishing, hunting, and taking part in cultural activities on beautiful Kenbi Country.

Also in Darwin, our Casuarina Senior Stars had a pamper session at a local nail salon, followed by a delicious lunch at the Waterfront. Evening saw the girls join a private catamaran cruise on Darwin Harbour, where they enjoyed stunning views of the sunset.

Over in Far North Queensland, our Thuringowa Stars were lucky enough to have a trip to the Whitsundays, where they went ocean rafting, fishing and enjoyed a glorious sunset sail.

Down in Victoria, our Mildura graduates were taken on a trip to southern Victoria, where they visited two of our fabulous corporate partners – MECCA and Supre – to learn more about the many career pathways available in each.

Across in the Pilbara, Karratha Stars graduates were treated to a full day of pampering (many of them had never been to a beauty salon before), with nails, pedicures, hair and massage. Afterwards, they were taken out to a special dinner with their Mentors to celebrate!

In the beautiful West Kimberley, our Broome Stars ‘kept it local’ by indulging in a stunning Sunset Cruise!

All in all, a series of very memorable experiences and a fitting end to a long and challenging year for our amazing Year 12 Stars!
