New school leader Alkira makes history

Stars student at Warrnambool College, Alkira, who made front page news in The Warrnambool Standard as the school’s first upcoming Indigenous school captain.
Alkira has worked closely with the Stars Foundation program team since it opened at Warrnambool College in April 2024.
Stars Program Coordinator at Warrnambool College, Dominique De Bono, said the growth Alkira has shown since joining Stars has been extraordinary.
“Alkira represents the Stars values of respect, honesty, commitment, and pride within Stars and across the school community and we’re all very proud of her as she steps into this leadership role,” said Dominique De Bono.
