2024 Graduates

In 2024, Ella proudly graduated from Lynwood Senior High School in Perth, becoming one of the first Stars students to complete Year 12 at the school.

Ella had long been curious about the possibility of a career in Fly-In, Fly- Out (FIFO) work but was unsure where to begin. Through the Stars program, she took part in worksite visits, including ‘A Day in the Life on Barrow Island’ kindly hosted by Stars partner, Chevron Australia. That experience sparked a deep interest in the oil and gas industry and gave her a glimpse of what could be possible.

Motivated to pursue this pathway, Ella committed herself to the preparation required. She attended transition meetings, practised mock interviews, and built the skills and confidence she needed to succeed.

With the guidance of her Stars Transitions Coordinator combined with the support of the Chevron team, Ella successfully secured a place in the Women in Engineering program.

This achievement marks an exciting first step into a traditionally male- dominated field. It also demonstrates the power of culturally responsive mentoring, strong partnerships, and student-led ambition to create real and lasting change.

In September 2025, Ella is thriving in her studies and stepping confidently into a future filled with opportunity. With pride in her achievements and the ongoing support from Stars Foundation, Ella is charting a path that will inspire many others to follow.
