2018 Graduates

In 2018, Tayha graduated from Casuarina Senior College as a proud Stars Graduate. Her time in the program was filled with memorable experiences, from sharing ham and cheese toasties between classes to travelling on the senior end of year trip to Brisbane. Through Stars, Tayha built lifelong friendships and discovered the value of stepping into real-world workplaces, where she could see firsthand the possibilities for her future career.

Today, Tayha is a classroom teacher at Maningrida Senior College while completing her master’s degree in education. She already holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary Education, as well as a Certificate IV in Project Management. The support Tayah received during her time at Stars gave her the confidence to step outside her comfort zone, build strong connections, and grow into the leader she is today.

Reflecting on her journey, Tayha describes Stars as “a little family” – a place where Mentors believe in you, challenge you, and cheer you on every step of the way. She encourages First Nations girls and young women to take the opportunity to join Stars, embrace the experiences, and discover their own potential.

“Stars showed me the importance of connection and that with the right support, you can achieve more than you ever imagined,” said Tayah.
